The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced the return of pro lacrosse on Wednesday morning with the launch of the PLL Championship Series Powered by Ticketmaster.

The event will be a two-week quarantined and fanless tournament that will run from July 25 through August 9, with a total of 20 games played over 16 days.
"The Premier Lacrosse League is excited to be a leader in the return of pro sports this July," said Rabil on NBC's "Today." "Although we've pivoted our originally scheduled season to a fully quarantined, fanless model, our PLL Championship Series will bring sports fans an innovative and thrilling experience that only the best players in the world can provide."
The 2020 PLL Championship Series will happen in two phases. The first phase will consist of a fourteen-game group-play format to determine the seeding for a single-elimination tournament. The second phase will consist of the tournament itself, which will crown the 2020 PLL Champion. All twenty games will be broadcasted live across the NBC family of networks (NBC, NBCSN, and NBC Sports Gold).
In order to guarantee the safety of all players, coaches, officials, and league staff, the PLL has formed a COVID-19 Medical Committee that is made up of physicians and infectious disease experts. Throughout the tournament, the league will implement regular COVID-19 preventative measures and restrict all travel in and out of the tournament's location, which has not yet been announced.
